Genetics

The building blocks for the ideal balance of Quality & Temperament

Confirmed by D.N.A.

In 2017 Purebred introduced genetic testing of all new Sires and Dams. The resulting gene study is used to identify specific desirable genes such as dilute colours (Lilac, Cream, Chocolate), coat types (long hair/short hair), or rarer coat patterns like Bi-colour or Mittens. This information is carefully considered when pairing Sires and Dams for new progeny.

In addition to genetic traits, a thorough screening for genetic diseases is undertaken to safeguard your new life companion – our desire is that each kitten is created free from potentially devastating genetic impairments.

Health

Longevity & Sustainability

FIV & FeLV
Zero Tolerance Policy

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) are highly destructive and contagious diseases. Any cat introduced to our Purebred Ragdoll family must first undergo thorough screening and quarantine to abide by out strict no-disease policy.

Veterinary
Health Reviews

In addition to vaccination boosters each Purebred Ragdoll receives a regular Health Review by our trusted Veterinarian encompassing eyes, ears, heart, lungs, physical development, and dental health.

Care Plan for
Dams

Research shows that overbreeding can cause serious health issues for Dams and kittens alike. Our ratio of quality unrelated Sires-to-Dams ensures a sustainable rate of healthy new litters without inbreeding or overbreeding.
